Psychology and Social Work
As a psychologist and social worker, I have a strong scientific background in the study of human behavior and cognition. Currently im enrolled taking bachellors degree in criminal justice. I have also completed coursework in developmental psychology and research methods. Throughout my studies, I have gained an understanding of how social, cultural, and biological factors influence our mental health. I am passionate about helping people understand and manage their mental health and emotional wellbeing.
I worked at OSSE for five years, and I loved every minute of it. I was able to help the children with special needs and behavioral disabilities to the best of my ability and I was able to develop meaningful relationships with the staff and students. Working at the Juvenile Detention Center has been a different experience, but I have enjoyed the challenge and I am proud to be able to help the youth in the city of Washington D.C. get back on their feet.
After working at the Juvenile Detention center in DC for the past two years, I am looking forward to continuing my education and pursuing a Master's degree in Social Work. My plans include continuing to work in the field of Juvenile Justice and helping young people who are struggling in our society. I also plan to focus on advocacy for children in the foster care system, and providing mental health services for those in need. I am passionate about helping young people to reach their full potential and to become healthy, productive members of society.
